I travel through time
on stories’ wings, through
forgotten lore. Farther still,
to origins where
charcoal lines dance
along cave walls into
galloping horses and bison.
Ancestors reflect
hematite handprints
into the mirror of time.
I return to when
the moon was newly formed
when matter swirled in chaos,
coalescing into
planets bound by gravity.
I become the distant stars,
stretch through time. Farther still
to when the light was born.
